Michael DiSimone has been involved in various facets for nearly 20 years, including the acquisition, disposition, development, brokerage, marketing, tax compliance and management of both multifamily and student housing properties
Prior to his current position as a Director of Acquisitions at MJW Investments, Mr. DiSimone was a First Vice President at Marcus & Millichap/Institutional Property Advisors (NYSE: MMI). During his tenure at M&M/IPA, Mr. DiSimone was one of three lead brokers on one of Southern California’s top brokerage teams and has closed nearly $1.4B in total transaction volume comprised of 90 transactions and over 4,700 units covering the full spectrum of private party and institutional ($20M+) transaction sizes.
Prior to M&M/IPA, Mr. DiSimone was a Senior Vice President at JRK Property Holdings – a multifamily owner/operator that at one point held over 40,000 units on a nationwide basis. JRK is currently the 31st largest owner in the country with just over 27,000 units. At JRK, Mr. DiSimone oversaw a portfolio of market rate and tax credit multifamily units and gained extensive experience in all facets of asset management.
Prior to JRK, Mr. DiSimone was employed by D.R. Horton (NYSE: DHI), America’s number one homebuilder by volume, as a Land Acquisition Associate where he was responsible for acquiring unentitled land for future development.
Mr. DiSimone holds a JD and LL.M., Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law, as well as Bachelors and Masters degrees from San Diego State University. He is also a California CPA (inactive) and licensed real estate broker.
