Richard Ader CEO US Realty Advisors
Mr. Ader is the founder and chairman of USRA and has been in the corporate real estate net lease industry since 1968. He serves as chairman of the firm’s investment committee and is the senior acquisitions officer and portfolio manager. Mr. Ader is one of the pioneers in the field of corporate sale/leaseback transactions and a leading authority on the subject. He has devised innovative and revolutionary net lease structures including the sandwich lease, stepped rents and accrual leases, and has overseen the acquisitions and management of over $18 billion of net lease real estate. Prior to forming USRA, Mr. Ader was Chairman of the Board and CEO of American Real Estate Investors, a publicly traded real estate master partnership. He also served as the Department Head of the Real Estate Division of Integrated Resources, Inc. Mr. Ader is also recognized as an expert in the field of operating real estate. He has been responsible for the acquisition and operation of over 20 million square feet of office, retail and industrial property, as well as 32,000 residential units throughout the United States. Mr. Ader previously served as Chairman of the Board of High Equity Investors, a series of closed and commingled commercial real estate funds with $375 million of assets. Mr. Ader is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the University of Vermont Foundation, University of Vermont College of Arts and Sciences Board, the Board of Directors of the Owners and Builders Division of the Real Estate Board of New York, and the Board of Directors of 820 Park Avenue. Paul McDowell President, Office & Industrial American Realty Capital Partners
Mr. Paul McDowell is President of the Office and Industrial Group for American Realty Capital Properties (ARCP). Prior to joining ARCP, he was a founder of CapLease where he served as CEO since March 2001, and as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary from 1994 until February 2001. Mr. McDowell has served on the CapLease Board of Directors since November 2003 and was elected Chairman of the Board in December 2007. He served on the Board of Directors of CapLease’s predecessor from November 2001 until March 2004. He is also a member of CapLease’s investment committee and the investment oversight committee of the Board of Directors. From 1991 until 1994, Paul was corporate counsel for Sumitomo Corporation of America, the principal U.S. subsidiary of one of the world’s largest integrated trading companies. As corporate counsel, he advised on a wide range of domestic and international corporate legal matters, including acquisitions, complex financing transactions, power plant development, shipping, litigation management and real estate. Gordon J. Whiting joined Angelo, Gordon in 2004 and is a Managing Director and the founder and Portfolio Manager of the firm’s net lease real estate strategy. Gordon has over 19 years’ experience in this industry and previously was an Executive Director of W. P. Carey. He was also the President and Portfolio Manager of Corporate Property Associates 14, Incorporated, one of W. P. Carey’s publicly-held, non-traded real estate investment trusts (with over $1.3 billion in assets) that invest in net leased commercial and industrial properties. Ralph N. Cram, CFA CRE is Chief Operating Officer & Manager for Envoy Net Lease Partners. Ralph has underwritten, acquired or financed $1.5 billion of real estate assets across all product types and geographic markets over his 25 years in commercial real estate. He co-founded Envoy in 201 to fill a void in the market: providing equity financing to developers of smaller to-be-built or redeveloped net lease single tenant projects. Prior to Envoy, Ralph led his own real estate advisory and and financial consultancy and before that served as Vice President of Finance at Bond Companies, a mixed-use retail developer, where he was responsible for more than $120 million of debt and equity financing for various retail and condominium projects, including two complex Whole Foods store developments in Chicago and Oakland, Calif. As Managing Director, Mr. Piasecki’s main role is the day to day operation of Elm Tree including accounting, finance, investment evaluation, and risk management. He is also involved in the acquisition process for new transactions. In 1991, Mr. Piasecki co-founded Mesirow Realty Sale-Leaseback, a significant player in the net lease world. Consisting of a team of senior advisors located across the United States, The Net Lease Property Group is committed to transacting single-tenant assets and national net lease portfolios as well as structuring sale-leasebacks. . Mr. Pike and his partner, Chris Bosworth, lead the eastern region (excluding Florida) of the Net Lease Property Group. Mr. Brian Mansouri is an Assistant Vice President on the American Realty Capital Trust Global acquisitions team. As a member of the acquisitions team, he handles the sourcing, underwriting, and closing of new investments throughout the U.S. and Europe. Prior to joining ARC, he worked as a valuation and financial analyst for GE Capital Real Estate. Michael Desiato is currently the head of ALM's Real Estate Media (REM) division. Previously, Mr. Desiato served as editorial director, group managing director and editor-in-chief of Real Estate Media. Mr. Desiato joined REM as an assistant editor for Real Estate Forum magazine and was named associate publisher three years later. He later became editor-in-chief of the magazine and played a key role in the launch of, the RealShare Conference Series and REM's regional magazines. Glenn Rufrano CEO American Realty Capital Properties
Mr. Rufrano was announced as the incoming CEO of American Reality Capital Properties on March 10, 2015. He will assume the role on April 1, 2015. Mr. Rufrano was most recently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of O’Connor Capital Partners, a real estate investment firm specializing in retail and multifamily residential properties. He was among the founders of O’Connor in 1983. Prior to rejoining O’Connor in 2013, Mr. Rufrano served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cushman & Wakefield Inc., the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services company. Since joining Calkain in 2009, Andrew has been tremendously successful in the net lease investment market. In 2010, his first year in net lease investment brokerage, he was awarded Calkain’s “Rookie of the Year” honors in recognition of the transaction volume he amassed. Andrew was also promoted to Managing Director in 2012 and awarded “The Calkain Cup” for generating the most revenue company wide in 2012 and 2014. Real Estate Forum magazine awarded Andrew the “Top 45 Under 40” designation in 2013, an honor bestowed upon the most outstanding commercial real estate professionals. His expertise spans net lease brokerage, commercial land brokerage, real estate consulting, and litigation project management. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and the District of Columbia real estate community.
