Michael has over 35 years of experience in finance and company operations. He has successfully started and operated three companies, several divisions for his employers and has originated, approved or worked out billions of dollars in loans to both corporate and real estate clients. Michael started his career at Union Bank in Los Angeles, where he completed the Management and Credit training program. He has worked for money center, regional and community banks, including Chase Manhattan Bank, Union Bank, Wachovia Bank and China Trust Bank. Most recently, he co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer of Partners Capital Solutions, Inc. (PCS) where he oversaw the company’s formation and growth for seven years. During his tenure at PCS the company originated over $900 Million dollars in loans and returned an average yield to investors of over 9.6% while suffering zero losses. Michael served his community by spending eight years as the co-chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee to form and have adopted the Warner Center 2035 Specific Plan for the City of Los Angeles. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of Los Angeles/Ventura and volunteered as a Mentor at the Marshall School of Business at the University of California. Jim Palmer’s career has spanned over 20 years where he’s held numerous leadership positions in both the Technology and Real Estate industries. Most recently he was a Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Channel LLC, a real estate software company that was acquired by in March 2015. Jim was responsible for all day to day operations, resulting in revenue growth of 3,000% in three years. Adam Christofferson is the senior vice president and division manager for the Southern California division. He began his career with Marcus & Millichap in 1997 as sales assistant. He was appointed sales manager in the Encino office in 2001, where he led the office to a record-breaking year. Ethan Penner Founder and Managing Partner Mosaic Real Estate Investors
Ethan Penner is a founder of Mosaic and its Managing Partner. He is a recognized pioneer in the fields of real estate and finance with a 30-year career marked by filling voids and responding to unseen or poorly understood opportunities. Most consequently, he is credited with being the primary driver in the creation of the Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities market for which he received broad recognition including being named one of the U.S. Real Estate Industry’s 100 icons of the 20th century. In 2011, Real Estate Forum voted him one of the Real Estate Industry’s 65 living legends in their 65th anniversary issue. Jodie Poirier is managing director at CBRE’s South Bay operations. Mark Strauss, managing director, capital markets, has over three decades of commercial real estate finance experience and joined Walker & Dunlop in December, 2016. Mr. Strauss is responsible for managing the origination, analysis, and placement of real estate debt and equity throughout the United States and is based out of the Irvine, California office. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Strauss was a 15-year veteran and founding member of Cohen Financials’ equity practice group. During his career, Mr. Strauss arranged various forms of debt and equity for over 23,000 apartment units, seven million square feet of industrial and office space, and over three million square feet of retail space. Prior to Cohen, Mr. Straus spent 12 years at Marcus and Millichap, during which time he was a regional manager for the Orange County operation and a pioneer in their single tenant net leased division. Before joining Marcus, Mr. Strauss was a principal in a firm that specialized in tax shelter syndications in the multifamily and office building sectors. Mr. Strauss holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
