Michael Klein Principal & CEO Freedom Financial Funds, LLC
Michael has over 35 years of experience in finance and company operations. He has successfully started and operated three companies, several divisions for his employers and has originated, approved or worked out billions of dollars in loans to both corporate and real estate clients. Michael started his career at Union Bank in Los Angeles, where he completed the Management and Credit training program. He has worked for money center, regional and community banks, including Chase Manhattan Bank, Union Bank, Wachovia Bank and China Trust Bank. Most recently, he co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer of Partners Capital Solutions, Inc. (PCS) where he oversaw the company’s formation and growth for seven years. During his tenure at PCS the company originated over $900 Million dollars in loans and returned an average yield to investors of over 9.6% while suffering zero losses. Michael served his community by spending eight years as the co-chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee to form and have adopted the Warner Center 2035 Specific Plan for the City of Los Angeles. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of Los Angeles/Ventura and volunteered as a Mentor at the Marshall School of Business at the University of California. Jim Palmer Senior Vice President, Commercial Brokerage Channel Ten-X
Jim Palmer’s career has spanned over 20 years where he’s held numerous leadership positions in both the Technology and Real Estate industries. Most recently he was a Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Channel LLC, a real estate software company that was acquired by in March 2015. Jim was responsible for all day to day operations, resulting in revenue growth of 3,000% in three years. He helped grow the company from three to twenty employees based in Newport Beach CA, while building an off-shore team of 30 engineering and product resources. At Ten-X, formerly, Jim is responsible for building the Brokerage Channel, a strategic business unit critical to the growth of Ten-X Commercial. Partnering with the brokerage community is a major focus for Ten-X as they look to capture more of the $15 Trillion commercial real estate market. His experience in structuring strategic partnerships and complex software and real estate agreements is vital to the success of the brokerage channel as Ten-X continues to bridge the gap between technology and commercial real estate. Marc Renard Executive Vice Chairman, Capital Markets Group Cushman & Wakefield
Marc D. Renard is Executive Vice Chairman and Executive Managing Director of C&W’s Global Capital Markets Group. As the leader of one of the nation’s most successful capital market groups, Mr. Renard and his team have closed transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $20 billion. Since joining C&W in 1983, Mr. Renard has been involved in many of the largest and most complex deals in the Western United States. Mr. Renard has been recognized with various honors including C&W’s Top Investment Broker in the Western Region and/or in California for the years 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2013, Mr. Renard was recognized as the top producing global capital markets broker at C&W. Marc has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California. He is on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation of Southern California, Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics’ Policy Advisory Board – University of California, Berkeley and the Executive Committee USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. Andrew White Managing Director Gladstone Commercial Corporation
Mr. White currently serves as Managing Director of Gladstone Commercial Corporation’s Los Angeles office focused on real estate investment opportunities in the Western U.S. Mr. White has over 25 years of commercial real estate investment experience. During his career, he has negotiated and closed over 100 transactions totaling in excess of $3.5 billion and has extensive principal investing and asset management experience that includes direct equity investments, JV partnerships and distressed debt. Prior to joining Gladstone, Mr. White held senior positions with MetLife Real Estate Investments, ING Realty Partners, Equus Capital Partners and MIG Real Estate. While at MetLife he was responsible for asset management, acquisitions and dispositions. As a Senior Vice President with ING, he was responsible for value-added and opportunistic investments in the Western US. He has sourced, structured, acquired and managed investments in all property types throughout the Western U.S. including repositioning, redevelopment and construction projects with a major focus on Office and Industrial investments. Mr. Pendergist began his career as a business consultant before moving into banking. After spending more than a dozen years at JP Morgan Chase serving in a variety of roles within the Commercial Term Lending business –ultimately as Managing Director and Head of the Eastern Region – Jason joined Luther Burbank Savings as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer in July 2014 and was promoted to President – Consumer & Commercial Banking in October 2015. Mr. Pendergist is currently responsible for the leadership and oversight of all consumer and commercial lending functions, lending operations, branch and online banking, capital markets and marketing within Luther Burbank Savings and its related entities. Jason Pendergist has nearly 20 years of financial, strategic and sales management experience.
