Mr. Shirwo is primarily responsible for the corporate development of the firm’s real estate businesses and the business and legal affairs pertaining to the firm’s real estate partnerships, governance and other corporate matters. Mr. Shirwo also shares responsibility with Mr. Bolour for the investment and operating activities of the Bolour Family Office. Before joining Bolour Associates, he served as General Counsel of Peerless Systems Corporation, a publicly traded company. Prior to Peerless, he worked in private practice, handling a variety of civil litigation and transactional matters in the areas of insurance, real estate and intellectual property. Mr. Shirwo serves on the planning committees of The Benjamin S. Crocker Symposium on Real Estate Law and Business, a partnership between the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Richard S. Ziman Center for Real Estate at UCLA, Board of Governors of the Institute for Corporate Counsel, a joint venture between USC Gould School of Law and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Corporate Law Departments Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also involved with charitable organizations that support the performing arts, including the Eli and Edyth Broad Stage, the performing arts center for Santa Monica College. He holds a B.A. in History and Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles and a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
